Why Use WHMIS Labels?
WHMIS labels give the first warning signal that there may be certain hazards associated with the concerned product. They also identify the right precautions that should be taken while using the product. These labels also signify the availability of a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). This sheet contains additional information about the product and its possible uses.
Forms of Labels
WHMIS labels can appear in numerous forms, including a mark, stamp, seal, wrapper, tag, ticket, sign, or sticker. It can be attached, stenciled, embossed, or printed on your controlled product or its bottle/container.

This label is used for all unsafe products that are commonly used at workplaces. Labels usually contain the product’s name, hazard symbols, precautionary measures, risk phrases, and the name of manufacturing company or selling distributor.
The Workplace Label
These labels typically contains the product’s name and precautionary measures. A statement regarding the availability of an MSDS is also mentioned.
