Case Study
Identification System for Fall Protection Equipment
Geoff James from Gravisis Inc. was referred to NMS to help with their fall protection
labeling requirements. They had some unique problems and Tammy, our senior sales agent, got into action and recommended our 12-year rated outdoor vinyl material.
Gravisys Inc. provides practical fall protection options for railcar terminals, truck loading areas, oil refinery pipe racks, chemical plants, ladders and stacks, marine applications, confined spaces, tower installations, plant railcar loading, commercial building window cleaning, aircraft hangars, bridges, cranes and conveyors, power stations, commercial roofs, public areas, large equipment and machinery which require maintenance and more.
Gravisys was using RFID tags as their identification products but that system was not working. They required the technicians to go back and forth to the different locations to scan the job progress.
By using our TSC TTP-247 Label Printer w/Cutter Kit, industrial grade vinyl labels, and 1D barcode format 128, Gravisys has an inexpensive, efficient and effective identification system.
The vinyl labels are used to identify their fall protection products such as anchors, posts, gates, and stairs on commercial buildings and industrial sites.

After purchasing and using the first TSC printer, Geoff purchased a second printer with Ethernet network capability for printing tear-resistant tags.
They’ve incorporated NMS Polyethylene Square-Cornered Tags for areas where applied labels may not be suited. Geoff was thrilled to find a less expensive and time-saving solution than their old way of manually laminating card tags and adding metal grommets.
Here’s how the guys tested the durability of these tags: by tie wrapping it under a truck and driving it for several weeks!
We thank Geoff and his team at Gravisys Inc. for their business and allowing us to share these labeling applications with you.
